At the International Pet Professionals Standards Council (IPPSC), we believe that professional excellence is not an end in itself—it is a means to a greater purpose. Our mission extends beyond setting standards and awarding credentials. At its heart, our work is about improving the lives of pets and the families who love them, and ensuring that quality pet care is accessible to all.

This belief drives our commitment to public welfare. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to using our expertise, network, and resources to support communities, empower underserved populations, and advance animal welfare where it is needed most.

Knowledge should not be a privilege. Through our public welfare initiatives, we develop and distribute free educational resources on essential topics such as preventive care, basic nutrition, and recognizing early signs of illness. These materials are made available to shelters, community organizations, and individuals who may not have access to professional pet health services.

We also partner with animal welfare organizations to offer pro bono training sessions for shelter staff and volunteers, helping them better care for animals awaiting adoption and support new pet owners in their communities.

In many communities, access to reliable pet health guidance is limited. Through partnerships with local organizations, we help bridge this gap. Our certified professionals volunteer their time to provide wellness consultations at community events, offering practical advice on nutrition, behavior, and preventive care to pet owners who might otherwise go without support.

We also collaborate with shelters and rescue groups to develop wellness programs tailored to their specific needs—helping to reduce return rates and improve outcomes for adopted animals.

IPPSC’s community of certified professionals shares a common passion: making a difference. Many of our credential holders actively volunteer their expertise in their own communities, from offering free workshops to mentoring new pet owners. We support these efforts by connecting like-minded professionals, sharing resources, and amplifying the impact of their work.
